Helpful Information:
When filling out the narrative questions, you are limited to the space allowable on the printed version. Please refer to the line number limits, but also please make sure that nothing is cut-off on the printed version. Anything not visible will not be read. eGRANT will fill in as much of the application as possible based on the information you input. If you input incorrect information, that is what eGRANT will fill in.
If you choose to use the icons at the top of the page on eGRANT to move between portions of your application, eGRANT will not automatically save the work on the current page before proceeding to the page you have selected.
You can stop working on your application at any point during the application process. Simply select your next destination from the list at the bottom of the screen, eGrRANT saves your entries to that point.
You can resume working on your application at a future time secure in the knowledge that all the information previously entered has been saved. You can also return to review, change or print your application entries until the application is submitted.
PLEASE NOTE: you can cut and paste information from a word processing program into the appropriate application fields (i.e. essay portion – you can cut and paste from Word); however, formatting applied in a word processing program will NOT transfer to the application fields.
When you are completely satisfied with your application, click the “Finish” icon at the top of the screen. If you failed to fill in all mandatory fields, you will see a list of corrections that will say “Go Fix It” before you can submit your application electronically.
Important! Submitting the Application This is the first year for the Fremont Area Community Foundation "electronic" scholarship application. As we learn, and as more complex applications are made available to us, we will be improving and updating. Because of this, we are not depending solely on the electronic application. We are asking all applicants to submit two ways. First, you must submit your application electronically (by March 15, 2008) in eGRANT by clicking the "Submit My Data" button on the Finish screen. Second, you must print, sign and mail a copy of your application and all attachments (transcript, FAFSA, etc. if you want to be considered for scholarships based on financial need) (to print, use the "View" button on eGRANT's Main Menu). These pages must be received or postmarked on or before March 15, 2008. Mail or drop off this information to:
Kathleen Bower, Scholarship Program Director FACF 4424 W. 48th St. PO Box B Fremont, MI 49412
It is very important to review the printed version of your application before clicking the submit button. Our Scholarship Committee will use the printed version when they make decisions, so please make sure it is complete and accurate.
At the end of the application will be a final checklist on the signature page. Please remember to review the list of required attachments to be submitted along with your application. Incomplete
Make sure both you and your parent or guardian signs the application If you would like to have your packet reviewed by Mrs. Ruthven you must have it to her by 4pm on March 7, 2008. Otherwise you may submit directly to the Foundation by March 15, 2008. No late applications will be accepted. Incomplete packets will not be considered.
Once received, these packets will be turned over to the Foundation and their Staff will slot you into the scholarships that they feel you are qualified for. You will receive a letter in the mail if you are selected to interview.
