MME

Act (American College Test)
Michigan is an ACT state, which means Michigan colleges Recognize the ACT as the primary entrance exam for college. The test should be taken in the spring Of the junior year or the fall of the senior year. You can pick up a register on-line at ACT Registration online. www.actstudent.org

PSAT (preliminary SAT)
The PSTA is a preliminary test for the SAT college entrance exam. It is a good indicator as to how well a student will preform on the SAT. If a student qualifies in the top 2% he/she may be recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Foundation. The competition is only available to juniors and must be taken in the fall of the junior year To be eligible for awards and scholarships. www.collegeboard.org

SAT I and II (scholastic aptitude test)
The SAT is an entrance exam used for Many out of state colleges, especially on the East Coast as well as highly selective Colleges and universities across the country. www.collegeboard.org

ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)
The ASVAB is an aptitude and career Test used by all branches of the military to help students with career choices Outside and within the military. It used as an entrance exam into the different services. It is often available through one of the local high schools but is also given Through the recruiting offices. www.asvabprogram.com

Explore test and program
This test and program is designed to help 9th graders explore a broad range of options for future. They will be given this test in the spring of their 9th grade year to help plan for the future and to help Newaygo high school adjust program to meet the needs of the students. It makes an important begining for a student's future academic adn career success. More information is available at

Plan test and program

The Plan test and program helps 10th graders build a solid foundation for their career success. Its helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of highs school and post-graduation years. This is a pre-ACT test and is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT. At Newaygo Hight School we give this test in the spring of students 10th grade year. Recommended Testing Schedule: 
    9th grade: MME Test 
    10th grade: Plan Test and program
    11th grade: PSAT in fall for top 10% of class / MME (ACT & MI State Required)
    12th grade: ACT or SAT in fall / Retake MME
