Anthony Scott Scholarship
This scholarship was developed to provide financial support specifically for students with disabilities that have attended Newaygo High School. The intent of this award is to recognize and support those students who have worked diligently to overcome and positively compensate for their disability and have excelled in their academic achievement. The award is designed to assist students in their efforts to continue their education at a higher level institution or trade school. Eligibility requirements are: a senior who has met graduation requirements at Newaygo High School, has been eligible for Special Education programs and/or services, has demonstrated a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, a potential for future success, and continual academic progress. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Bev Shue Alumni Memorial
This scholarship of $1,000 - $1,200 is based on GPA, community service, citizenship and potential to complete a higher education will be highly considered, as well as need. A personal interview may be held. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Dads Post and Auxiliary Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student with a GPA of 2.5, involved in community service, citizenship, leadership abilities and has financial need. Scholarship will be awarded at the Honors Banquet.

Don Terrill Memorial
This $300 scholarship is based on need, academics, citizenship and the desire to complete a higher education. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

George Manciu Memorial
This Scholarship is for a student interested in pursuing a career in education. The applicant must be able to show community service, academic achievement, and leadership abilities. The amount of this award will vary from year to year. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Jakim and Scott Memorial

Students will be selected for an interview based on most improved GPA during the senior year. Students will be required to present their portfolio at the interview, but there is no application to complete. The awards and amounts will vary from year to year. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Jerry Valleau Memorial
This $300 scholarship is awarded to a student entering the field of education. GPA will be considered as well as community service and the potential for success. A personal interview may be held. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Katy Miller Memorial Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a student that shows community involvement, academic achievement and financial need. A personal interview will be held. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Kowalski Scholarship
A $500 scholarship based on need, GPA, community service and citizenship. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Lion Heart Award
This scholarship of $300 - $600 is based on GPA and citizenship. The student must be a child of a school employee. If no child of an employee is attending Newaygo High School, a student with other high qualities will be considered. A personal interview may be held. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Mary Jane Pendergast Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship of $100 - $200 will be awarded to a student who is entering the field of nursing. GPA, citizenship and community service will be considered.

Matson Scholarship
This $500 - $700 scholarship is based on GPA, need, citizenship, career choice and the potential to complete a higher education. A personal interview will be held. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

National Honor Society Scholarship
This scholarship is available to National Honor Society members. One or two scholarships may be awarded, based on character, scholarship, leadership, service, and participation in Honor Society activities. Scholarship checks will be awarded the night of honors banquet.

Newaygo Band Boosters Scholarship
This scholarship is up to $500. It is available to students that have been accepted into an approved instrumental musical program either as a major or minor field of study. There is no interview or GPA requirement.

Newaygo County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Scholarship awards shall be no less than $250 and no more than $1,000 and are awarded at the discretion of the Newaygo County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. You must contact the Newaygo County Farm Bureau at 5444 Shady Drive, Newaygo, MI 49337 to receive application and guidelines.
Criteria is as follows:
• Applicant must be either a Newaygo County Farm Bureau member, son/daughter or under the guardianship of a Newaygo County Farm Bureau member
• Applicant must be a high school senior or graduate who is planning to further his/her education with a planned program of study
• High school transcript must be attached to application, and
• Letter of recommendation from a principal, teacher or employer must be attached to application

Newaygo County Law Enforcement Scholarship
One non-renewable scholarship at $300 - A scholarship will be awarded to one of Newaygo High School's outstanding young people whom The Newaygo County Law Enforcement Officers Association feels is deserving. Scholarship will be awarded during the honors banquet.
Criteria is as follows:
• Graduating senior
• Provide certainty of attending and completing a law enforcement program
• Exhibit scholastic achievement, character and community involvement

Newaygo County Sportsmans Club Scholarship
This scholarship of $100 is based on career choices. The first consideration will go to a student entering the field(s) of conservation, ecology, biology or a related field. The fields of education and medicine will be the second consideration. Community service and academic performance are important. Scholarship will be awarded at the honors banquet.

Newaygo Educational Association Scholarship
The amount of this award will vary from year to year. An award will be made to the top ten graduating seniors who will have to write a dissertation on themselves and indicate future plans for education and career. No application is necessary. Honorarium will be awarded at the honors banquet.

Newaygo Lions Club Scholarship
Applicants' GPA is highly considered, as well as community participation, leadership, citizenship and potential to complete higher education. A personal interview will be held. The amount of $4,000 is split between an undetermined number of students and the amount will vary from year to year. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo County Lions Club after 1st semester of college.

Newaygo United Church of Christ Scholarship
This scholarship is based on need, GPA, community service, high moral standards and citizenship. An interview may be held. The amount of $4,000 will be split between an undetermined number of students. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo United Church of Christ after 1st semester of college.

NPS Educational Advancement Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is based on need, GPA, community service, and potential to complete a higher education. A personal interview may be held. The foundation board has granted $1,000 scholarships to (8-10) students per year. The award is paid upon documentation of college/technical school enrollment.


Olive Robey Memorial Scholarship
This $200-$400 scholarship is for those looking to pursue a degree in Education. You need a 3.0 GPA or better, must be able to show good community involvement, and have good moral character. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Ray and Jean Bentley Memorial
This scholarship of $500 is based on career choices and the first consideration will go to a student entering the field(s) of medicine, pharmacy, biology or related sciences and second consideration will be the field of education. GPA will be considered, but more importantly, will be the conduct and enthusiasm of the student toward their education and completion of a higher education. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Student Council Scholarship
GPA, community service, school leadership, citizenship and need will be considered for this scholarship. A personal interview will be held. The amount varies each year and may be split between an undetermined number of students. Scholarship will be awarded at the honors banquet.

Superintendent's Scholarship
This scholarship award is intended for NPS students studying education or a career in teaching. The dollar amount and number of awards will vary from year to year. The award will be made the 2nd semester of college after receiving proof of a first semester GPA of 2.5 or higher. Criteria are as follows: Must show community service, academic excellence, and strong character. Applicants are to relate their positive experiences during their high school years. Graduates whose parents/guardians are school district employees or Board of Education members are ineligible. Scholarship will be paid with submission of grades to Newaygo Public Schools Administration office after 1st semester of college.

Zonta Club of Newaygo County Scholarship
Two (1) $300 non-renewable scholarships to students entering an accredited university who have a special commitment to the volunteer sector and evidence of leadership achievements in their school and community, who is willing to deal with questions about the problems of woman's equality in our country and worldwide, and who think about ways to advance the status of women in the same areas. Apply by April 15 with a resume mailed to ZONTA, PO Box 509, White Cloud, MI 49412. Scholarship will be awarded the night of honors banquet.
