SPANISH I Spanish I is a one year introduction to the Spanish language and Spanish Cultures. The language is presented in the natural order of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn common expressions, basic vocabulary, and sentence structure with emphasis on the present tense.
SPANISH II Spanish II is a one year class which continues the study of basic Spanish and Spanish cultures. All four skills are again used to expand students use of expressions, vocabulary, and the structure of the language. Students progress from using mainly the present tense to using the present progressive and preterit(past) tenses. Prerequisite is Spanish I or Equivalent.
SPANISH III Spanish III is a one year class in which students work independently or with a study partner to expand their use of the basic Spanish and their knowledge of cultures. Students are provided with a weekly syllabus which lists daily activities, assignments, tests, and quizzes. Students complete the activities and assignments on their own and are able to ask the instructor for help or clarification as needed. A review session with the instructor is provided before each test. Several verb tenses are studied in this class. Prerequisites are Spanish I and II or equivalent.
SPANISH IV Spanish IV is a one year independent class which provides students with the opportunity to continue their study of Spanish. Students work independently or with a study partner on new vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, more advanced language structures, and verb tenses. Students are provided with a weekly syllabus which lists daily activities, assignments, tests, and quizzes. Students complete the activities and assignments on their own and are able to ask the instructor for help or clarification as needed. A review session with the instructor is provided before each test. prerequisites are Spanish I, II, and III or equivalent.
FRENCH I French I is a one year introduction to the French language and culture. The language is presented in the natural order of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn common expressions, basic vocabulary, and sentence structure with emphasis on the present tense and the simple past tense(passe' compose').
I.T.V. LATIN I & II An introduction to the Lantin language using the grammer-translation approach. Students will examine rudimentary Latin grammer and compare it to structures in modern English, build Latin vocabulary while learning present day derivatives, and explore the history, culture, and mythology of the classical world.
