Trimester Information

Michigan Merit Exam: Beginning with the Class of 2008, the Newaygo Public Schools Board of Education has made the (MME) a graduation requirement. Students must have a valid reportable score. The high school will provide the MME to the students in the spring their junior year and seniors needing re-testing. Information about the tests are available in the Guidance Office. You may also want to visit the Michigan Department of Education website www.michigan.gov/mme for more information.

The graduating classes of 2009 & 2010 will need 26 credits.

Health 1/2 Credit
Electives 12 1/2 Credits

With the exception of World Languages, the requirements listed below are effective with the Class of 2011. The class of 2016 will ad the World Language requirement of 1 credit.

  • Complete Algebra 2 over 2 years with credit given for each year

Special Education Students: The Indiviual Education Plan (IEP) shall identify the appropriate course or courses of study and identify the supports, accommodations, and modifcations necessary to allow the pupil to progress in the curricular requirements, or in a Personal Curriculum, and meet the requirements for a high school diploma.
