1. Avoid using "you" in your papers.
2. Avoid absolutes: Everyone, always, never, etc.
3. A lot and each other is two words.
4. Don't use "I think," "I believe" in your essay.
5. Don't mention in your paper that you are writing a paper. Example, "The theme of this story is..." "I am going to write about..."
6. The topic of your paper should be simple and clear...a reader should not have to struggle to see the main idea of your paper.
7. Don't add new ideas in your conclusion.
